It's a new year, so I thought, time to get back to blogging.
Except I've moved my blog to a new site, it's just easier to use, although harder to customize with my own layout and such. (Not good with html, ya know.)
If you happen to actually still visit my blog, here's the link to my new one:
Well, here I am. I was recently doing some major catching up on reading my friend's blogs. And you know, they both mention that they don't hear a lot from me... so here I am. I know it was a long time ago, but I think I'm ready to type another post and keep you all updated on my life.
Plus, the last post recieved 17 COMMENTS?? I am just... flattered. Thank you very much.
So where to begin? My summer has been very laid back and I have to admit I'm getting kind of sick of it. I need more adventure! Diffy is in Saskatoon, naturally, for she goes there every summer. And with Sarah being on the other side of the valley, it's also been tough for us to hang out lately. But we did at Rum Runner Days. And boy, was last weekend ever hectic! I have never seen more people crammed onto Blairmore Main Street in my life. My mom was talking to this lady who came down from Calgary, and my mother joked "You come here to escape all the hype of Calgary, but it's not much better here, is it?" Which is very true. This only happens once a year in the small municipality of the Crowsnest Pass. If you're reading this, Meredith, I only wish you could see how busy it gets here during that weekend, because you probably only have the slightest idea.
Anyway, Sarah and I hung out at Emily's house. Well, more in her loft... which was also crowded. But we ate pizza and watched Emily's newborn sister (Awwww!!!) and even though my snobby sister was there, I had fun! The day after the hectic day (Saturday) I went to the multicultural food fair which is held in the old school behind my house anyway. I go there only for the Italian food. How I dream of going to Italy one day!
And then I bought some Japanese candy to bring home. That day was real pleasant.
But it didn't end there, because my dad made last minute plans for us to head out to Drumheller. At 7pm, we booked a hotel in Taber and packed the van. The hilarious part though, was when my sister opened the back door of the the van and my insanely large dog jumped in and refused to move. She gave up trying to lure him out with treats and he sat there, with the door wide open in our drive way leading to the freedom of the baseball field, for ten minutes all by his lonesome. He just didn't want us to leave him behind. Eventually I had to climb in and use all of my strength to push him out, and we did feel guilty about leaving him at the house, but it was all for the better. My doggy loves us very much and we love him more.
On Monday morning we set out from Taber to Drumheller, and the ride was very exhausting. Hours of flat prairie and an uncomfortable middle seat- it's like the trip to Saskatoon all over again. Eventually we arrived and the museum was very impressive. Unfortunetely I could have enjoyed it more if my family didn't have to rush through everything. Can't I just stand and read about this planet's history for one minute? Despite this, I discovered that my favourite dinosaur is the claudiosaurus.
Yesterday I went to Sarah's house. Her family was puppysitting - it's a long story, but the puppy was white and fluffy and just drop dead gorgeous. I had funny playing tug-a-war with her and tickling her tummy while Sarah and her sister painted their deadly unfunished deck. We took the dogs (puppy and Sarah's dog) for a walk, and then the puppy was finally exhausted. It was real sweet that Sarah's dog got to be a mommy for a day, and a great job at it too.
And now today is like any other day this summer that I didn't mention in this post... just being lazy. I need some motivation to get off my butt and stop eating for one thing. At the beginning of July, my body went through drastic changes. I kept losing weight and my fat percentage jumped from 25% to 21%! My goal was to reach 20% by the time I leave for my trip to Saskatoon to meet Diffy in early August. Yeah, that's all fine and dandy, but now I've climbed my way to 23.5% again and my confidence is dropping. When I go out for trips I eat fast food and sit in the van all day... I can't help it. But today I know I've been guilty of eating a little too much and not excercising nearly enough. I think I should post often and keep mentioning my current fat percentage... it may just help me to keep on track. I hope you don't mind!
On the bright side, I do have to work today. You may think I'm insane, but I like working because it gives me something to do, and I'm also excercising because I walk back and forth without sitting for four or five hours and I don't eat during then. And who can forget that I get paid for it! So it all adds up as a major positive. The only problem is when I'm working. I have to work tonight, which isn't a big deal, for I can most likely watch So You Think You Can Dance tongiht at 11pm on the BC channel (Oh, how I love satelite!) But two weeks ago I missed the performance night of the show. I have to five hours on Saturday night, and my mom and I planned to visit Lethbridge for the day, so we have to return home earlier than planned. And I also have to Monday night, and miss Canadian Idol. Not that it's a MAJOR loss... it would have been if Sheldon, Nancy and Keith were still in the competition, or any of the above. But that's life when you're working, and you lose TV viewing time. (And I only watch an average of one hour of it a day!)
I think Meredith will be pleased to learn that I have currently $350 saved up for the trip when I go to see her... and I'll be getting one more paycheck from work before then, so it's an added $100. Plus my mother will be paying for necessary expensives.
Shopping, here we come! Sarah, Meredith and I will have a blast together. It's certainly going to be the highlight of my summer.
I assume I should probably sign off now, because this post is extremely long as it is. That's what you get for a... 3 month absense now? Oh well, I'm here now. I should probably mentioned that I started a blog for me to write my Canadian Idol reviews in, but I have lost hope in it due to the fact that I've lost hope in Canada's taste in amazing singers and the will to pick up the phone and vote for talent, not looks... I better stop before this turns into a big long rant.
I hope you're having a fantastic summer. I will post again soon... hopefully!!!

Hello again fellow readers! It's been a while since I posted. I guess I just want to say that it's slipped my mind a few times... or that my sister has found this new obsession with a website, which is bound to pass within a month and start up again a month after that!
Speaking of sis, she's decided to do this "emo" type of style, and has dyed her hair black and has a dark kind of wardrobe. Now, I have no problem with people who have this style, except if it's my sister! It's just... weird. Hard to explain why that is, but please accept it.
It is officially the beginning of Easter Break, and I am very relieved that I don't have to go back to those awful classrooms for more than a week. However, I do feel kind of alone since Sarah left to the airport this morning and is heading to JAPAN!!! Which is very exciting. But Diffy is also leaving to Saskatoon for the break and I shall be alone here. You know, eventually breaks from school get irritating and you want to head back to school.
Strange, but right now I'm gonna enjoy it. Hopefully I can find the perfect time to watch the Life On The Murder Scene DVD I purchased yesterday! Hooray!!! I've already heard the Live CD through several times and each time I hear Desert Song I cry! It's just so beautiful. I missed school yesterday while in the city and got my haircut while I was at it. Well, okay, it was the main reason for missing school, but it's important! I love it and it's exactly how I wanted it.
I also purchased the Panic! At the Disco CD and I am quite impressed with it. Happy is me!
Today is a special day because Diffy is doing something very... extreme! As long as I've known her, her hair has been down to her butt and it hasn't changed style since she decided to grow out bangs! And now in approximately one hour, 13 inches will be vanishing before our very eyes! I really want to go with her and support her with this, and be the first to see her new hair, it's just so exciting. Hee!
I've seen this question being asked a lot on my tagboard: How do you get that picture up in your links area? At least, that's my understanding of the question, and here's the answer for you bravenet blog users:
1. Under Web Journal manager click "Manage Journal Image". Be sure to check off "Enable the phonecam in my journal".
2. The instructions from then on are pretty clear. You can enter a title for the picture if you want. If you do not own a cellphone camera like myself, simply be sure to have your picture on a photo hosting site such as Photobucket.com or in your Bravenet Photo Centre if you have one. Just enter the url from there.
3. Be sure to click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page and you're done! You'll have any picture of your choice featured underneath your links in your journal, like the wonderful Kalan Porter picture on the left of your screen!
Hope that clears it up for many. I better run along now, and I hope that all of you on Easter Break have a blast!

This week went by so quickly, it's no wonder I hardly got by with homework. And now it is Sunday: the beginning of a brand new week. I seriously can't wait for Spring Break.
Well, all that I can really remember is that yesterday, my mother took us across the British Columbia border to have lunch at our favorite fast food place. Mmmm... chicken. Of course, my brother remembers of a playground he loves that is located in the town, so we really have no choice to let him play for a bit. What hurt could it do? He gets excercise, and the rest of us; my mother, sister and I, can relax in the vehicle listening to nothing but satelite radio. Finally we decide to go and my mom tries to start up the van: but she can't. I remember the three of us staring at eachother for a bit, and my mom mumbling something about the battery, and I start wondering aloud why we were just sitting there not doing anything about it! "Please mom, there's a gas station over there, let's not just sit here," I said. But my mom just rubbed her eyes and said she wanted to wait for something. I gave her this look:
. Anyway, the weird part about all of this is that she was right. No sooner had a truck pulled up beside us, and my mom had asked for help. Sure enough, with the help of booster cables, we were running again and heading back East towards home. An exciting April Fools day in the least.
I signed up for the 30hour Famine being held by my school next week. It's just a real good cause, and I did ask myself once or twice if I was crazy to go without food for that long, but I've done it before. And it's not so much I get hungry... I just lack a lot of energy and am very weak. And then by the second day, I begin to experience hunger.
Homework, homework, homework. It's especially Pappy who's assigning a heck of a lot of it! I have to get it done soon as the Juno Awards are on tonight! Here's to hoping that Kalan Porter receives at least one award from one of his three nominations!!!!
Carolyn.
YAY!!!!!
I was reading through all the comments and tagboard messages people have left during my absence, and I just want to thank all those people! I really do feel special to have feedback!!!
Yes, right now I am sitting at my own computer! My mom and I picked it up today since we had to get my sister from badminton practice anyway. It's noticably faster now, in spite of the dial-up for internet. We have about four programs that actually work and they will keep most of the spyware/ viruses and pop-ups away. I'm very relieved about it. My mom scared me for a bit when she told me the hard drive may have to be erased, and I have things that can never be replaced! But it's all good and I have everything as far as I know. I knew not backing up our files would come to haunt me one day.
I was quite down in the dumps all week, partly because I was without my computer, and partly because of my ruined art projects. But now those are behind me. And about my MCR DVD, I know I will be getting it sooner or later. No later than two weeks from now, for sure. I have learned an important lesson: patience. Even though I am told by people that I have a lot of patience, I can still be unpatient at times. Then again, who isn't? But I know that just complaining that something won't hurry up and go your way isn't the best solution. I will be patient and wait my turn for my wants.
One thing that has been keeping me happy at all is the fact that it is spring, and the weather is showing it. Last week we had sunshine and warm temperatures, and even our once-a-year creek running down beside our house as a cause of the big meltdown. Now it's just been raining, and snow has pretty much dissapeared. I just love spring, it is the beginning of a fresh start- as if the world were starting off as new again. Simply breathtaking.
Thank you all again for the congratulations. I will be back here posting often, as long as I have the computer for it!
Carolyn.
Hello my fellow journal readers! After a week of not being able to access my journal, it’s a joy to find that I have won journal of the week!!! Thank you very much!
On Wednesday, my computer froze and it hasn’t started up since. We took it in for repair and it has been scanning for viruses and spyware since then. Apparently it had a lot of problems. Right now I type from the school computers, because ever since Sarah informed me of my win this week, all I could think of is “I must post!”
So how’s my life been? Well, the school dance was Friday, and hardly anyone showed up. It was nice though, having a little more room to dance! We basically spent five dollars to chat with Mr. P, because the music wasn’t good at all. I finally got to tell him that I had read Skybreaker! Although the music sucked, we danced anyways and had fun. Oh, and when they played Panic! At the Disco, Meredith and I danced so hard my legs were sore. It was a blast.
I walked into the school building on Tuesday to find the two of my Gerard Way Art projects that I had mentioned of posting on this journal, as usual on the bulletin board. I am sorry to say they have been vandalized. It hurt me a lot to have to take them down and throw one away (one may have a chance for survival). The third is still alright, and put up out of reach. Plus, I have copies of that one anyway. Perhaps I can spend the Easter holidays re-creating the felt marker project I had to throw away.
I can’t think of much else now, and my lunch break is almost over. I will be sure to update on anything important I didn’t mention as soon as my computer is repaired. Be sure to scan your computer often! Or else you may have to go through the depression I did, being separated from my dear, large hunk of technology.
Carolyn.
Don't worry, I had a good day today. It's just a recent event that makes me all grouchy at the moment.
Mom woke me up early this morning. Then the morning was okay from there. Lunch, and then Crime Stoppers presentation after lunch. French was hilarious. Diffy thought that when I said "Screamo must be easy for someone like Gerard Way", she thought I said "Spring Rolls must be easy for someone like Gerard Way." Pretty hilarious moment. I should ask him if I ever get the chance, don't you think?
Speaking of Gerard Way.
I had it in my reach! In fact, it was to be sent to my house this morning! But nooooo, it was holding up the Harry Potter DVD so I cancelled it! And now I want to order it today, the day of its release, and I see "OUT OF PRINT". So, okay, that doesn't make much sense for a DVD, but it's enough to make me bawl my eyes out knowing I won't be ordering my Life on the Murder Scene DVD anytime soon. I was so close...
There's my rant for the day. I don't have much else to say right now. Except, if you look up "Life on the Murder Scene DVD My Chemical Romance order online" on Google, my journal will be one of the sites listed.
I'm so overjoyed.
I should be finishing an essay right now. Am I? Let's just say I got a little distracted. Today, my gymnastics routine group got to watch other groups perform and we didn't have to worry about ourselves. It was great. In Social, we have to make a poster-type project to represent what we know about a chpater we read on Russia. I already have an idea.
And the rest was blah-dee-dah. More homework tonight anyway, how exciting.
Meredith sent me this through email and I'm filling in my own answers to show all the nice people that read my journal.

Carolyn (I almost spelled my name wrong, there.)
I am so thankful for a three day weekend! Finally, some sleep.
This week we held the Music Festival and the school bands did quite well. Meredith did her solo and won second place (well, tied for it) but she did very well! I am very proud of her and very sorry that I nearly missed it!
Ooh, and in French we watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in French. It was fairly easy for me to understand with the French subtitles added over the French speaking. It's funny when they say Albus
. It sounds like Alboos! Alboos! I also can't believe "Baguette" means a wand.
Today was the Figure Skating Carnival. Meredith and I watched it, and it was very good. Sarah did well on her solo skate, and it was so cute when she had to carry the little guy at the end. My mom was doing loud whistles throughout the performances and scared the little children. And like last year, we had two guests. One was a nine year old girl who was very talented for her age. No doubt about that! And the other was an eighteen year old guy who performed brilliantly.
He was hot.
Hee....
But personally I find it great that the young boys performing at the Carnival have someone like our guest skater to look up to and hopefully they won't lose interest in skating when they're older. Figure Skating dudes are great!
I am reading a new book now. It is one that Meredith suggested after I finished Skybreaker. It's called Inkheart, which I borrowed from my sister. I had no idea she owned it. She said that she got bored reading it and never finished it. This will make Diffy happy, oddly enough. I'm through two chapters and still into reading it, so far so good!
I have too much homework this weekend. I hate it when every teacher gives you a big assignment.
Carolyn.
Monday is a weird day. You honestly don't know whether it'll be a good day or not. You just have to get up and live through it no matter what happens. Today started kind of off-ish, since we were practicing our gymnastics routines. I don't think this is going to work out. Even a kid in my class who gets top grades said "I'm going to fail this."
After that, it got alright, Social and Math weren't much fun, and Science was boring as usual. Just the same old school day you get tired of, right? We laughed our heads off at Lunch. Exactly what we were talking about, I'm not sure. And Language was boring. And then Animation again! At the moment it is pretty boring, you know, showing a movie about a lego brick moving 1, 2 or 1/2 a stud. But Meredith and I talked a lot and got songs stuck in our heads. It was great. And then Diffty left her lunch bag behind for the hundredth time, which I took to her bus to give her. I would have thrown it at her, but there were people in the way.
I was just looking at old posts of mine on my Canadian Idol 3 ramblings blog. Do you ever laugh at your own jokes? Well, I do. I don't remember myself being so funny one year ago. Anyway, I think I'll start up that journal again. And fall through with it without, you know, any missing posts. I could do one for American Idol, but time is limited and it's just easier during the summer while Canadian Idol is on.
I am really, really anticipating the HP DVD in the mail. Tomorrow will mark one week since its release, and I could've gone out to get it by now! I also think I'm going to order Life On the Murder Scene right when it comes out and pay for any shipping, I don't care. I don't want anything delayed anymore.
Well, I better leave this for now, since I have to practice on my flute, type up my teams' gymnastics routine, do a map for Social Studies and maybe squeeze in time to finish a Language Arts essay. Did I mention report cards come in this Thursday? How can it be so soon? I got my last one in Febuary. Is it one every month now, or what? Anyway.
Happy Monday to you!
Carolyn.
